This class has taught me plenty of useful skills that I can use in the classroom. I am generally not very good when it comes to using technology, but this class has shown me easy ways to create quizzes, websites, photo stories, and rubrics for my classes in the future. I began to notice that in the beginning I was finishing faster than my peers, but as the semester went on I began to take longer and longer on each assignment. Normally people would have the opposite effect, but for some reason things never go the way I need them to. I could work on this by maybe asking for help when I need it instead of waiting until the last minute. I really enjoyed the photo story project. It was my favorite because we were able to go out and take pictures of what we wanted to put in a lesson plan for an instructional lesson. I liked the idea of being able to go out and create our own lesson plan and then using the class assignment to put it all together. I know that I will definitely use this idea in my classroom.

NET Standard 5
5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources. Teachers:
a. | participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning. |
b. | exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making and community building, and developing the leadership and technology skills of others. |
c. | evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and resources in support of student learning. |
d. | contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching profession and of their school and community. |
Reflection:
Throughout the semester there was one assignment that stood out that will follow along with this standard and that is the website assignment. Although the website was not an easy task, it is very beneficial for the classroom because it allows parents to become involved in their child’s school work.
Related Assignments:
*Website
Future Goals:
I think that the website assignment is a great idea to incorporate into a class. The website would allow parents to be more involved with school work seeing as how they would have schedules for homework due dates and school field trips. Also parents would be able to view frequently updated grades. This would allow the parents to focus on the curriculum and help the kids when they are at home. I do not see any downsides to the site. Names will be changed and parent’s can pick out code names so that every child’s information is kept private.
NET Standard 4
4. Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility
Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices. Teachers:
a. | advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources. |
b. | address the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies providing equitable access to appropriate digital tools and resources. |
c. | promote and model digital etiquette and responsible social interactions related to the use of technology and information. |
d. | develop and model cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with colleagues and students of other cultures using digital-age communication and collaboration tools. |
Reflection
I think that it is important to understand and follow the use of digital information and technology. One must always be careful whenever they are looking for specific photographs on the internet, some people may have their photos copyrighted which would then prevent you from using them. Being aware of copyrighted material, intellectual property, and using correct documentation when doing research is very important; I learned that whenever we did our website project. We had to site and document any of the information and photographs we used that were not personally ours.
Related Assignments:
*Photostory
*Website
Future Goals:
While in the classroom I plan on educating my students on copyrighted laws and any other form of a technology rule. Kids and young adults should be aware of this information especially as they grow up because technology is making it’s way into classrooms all across the world and they need to know the facts. Technology is a wonderful tool and individuals just need to learn how to use it in the right way.
NET Standard 3
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers:
a. | demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations. |
b. | collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation. |
c. | communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats. |
d. | model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning. |
Reflection:
I have learned a lot about technology in this class especially when it comes to making quizzes, worksheets, and puzzles on the internet. I had no idea that there were so many sites out there that allowed you to create such things. My strong point would be I successfully completed the assignments and my weak point would be that it would me awhile to get to the finishing point but I made it there.

2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS•S. Teachers:
a. | design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity. |
b. | develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress. |
c. | customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources. |
d. | provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching. |
Reflection:
I believe that using technological tools inside the classroom is important. It helps keep student’s attention while also allowing them to use digital gadgets to customize their own kinds of projects and assignments. During the semester we did assignments that were similar to this Net Standard. All of the following assignments were directly related to this particular standard: photo story, assistive technology, and our blogs. During these assignments we used technology to personalize our learning activities and while also assessing our own progress.
Related Assignments:
*photo story
* Assistive technology
*blog
Future Goals:
When I become a teacher I plan on encouraging my students to use digital tools while working on class assignments or even projects when they are at home. With the use of developed technology students may be more efficient in attaining their educational goals. For some technology may make everything seem a bit more simple and more interesting rather than hearing a lecture and doing their assignments without any technology assistance. I plan on allowing my student’s to use technology if they see it being a beneficial factor to their assignment.

1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Teachers:
a. | promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness. |
b. | engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources. |
c. | promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students' conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes. |
d. | model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments. |
Reflection:
The concept map, photo story, and website are all assignments that were used to promote creativity. This is important because it may persuade students to become more involved in school work. I know that I was very much interested in these assignments when we were going over them in class and I can only hope that maybe my students will enjoy them in the future.
Related Assignments:
*Concept map
* Photo Story
* Website
Future Goals
As a student aspiring to be a teacher I would bring these types of assignments in to my classroom. I feel that they allow the student to add their own twist to the academic material and if they enjoy doing their homework assignments then hopefully they will have a better chance at remembering the material for an exam or test. My goal is make the assignments as interesting as possible and allow the students to use collaborative knowledge and conceptual understanding to make their projects the best they could be.

This blogfolio is an overview of everything I have done throughout this semester in my IT 365 class. This class was very educational and taught me a lot of quick and easy way to find teaching materials and artifacts. Some of the assignments we had were creating concept maps, learning how to make an online quiz and worksheet, and also creating a rubric for class projects.
Within this blogfolio I have a list of all the assignments I have completed. Each assignment is directly related to a different lesson plan. Hopefully these assignments will serve as a guide for me later on down the road when it comes to teaching in the future.
